The M.Sc. in Data Science is a 2-year full-time degree program designed for individuals who want to develop a career as a data engineer and scientist with a solid grounding in aircraft and fleet maintenance, repairs, and operations, airplane structural analysis, financial controls, and data analytics. Graduates of the Data Science program will have a solid grounding in aircraft and fleet maintenance, repairs, and operations, financial controls, and data analytics. They will be well-rounded with experience in both hands-on aircraft and the skills to do deep mathematical and computer-aided analysis. This degree program is designed to equip students with the skills needed to transform large amounts of data into actionable decisions and solve challenges using computer-based analytics. The curriculum has been developed in partnership with the Boeing Corporation.
The program is structured to support the study of both theoretical and practical aspects of artificial intelligence and data science with a focus on aviation and aeronautics application and knowledge. Data Science majors will take core courses in computer science, mathematics, statistics, computational modeling, machine learning, data analytics, and domain knowledge in aviation and aeronautics. The program is designed to support two in-depth focus tracks: Predictive Airplane Health Management (PAHM), and Operations Research and Strategic Planning for Aviation (ORSP).
