In an effort to sustain its culture of recognizing long serving and dedicated employees, Ethiopian held a colourful long service recognition ceremony on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Ethiopian Aviation Academy Cafeteria. Colleagues who retired in year 2022 as well as those who served Ethiopian for 40, 35, 30, 25 and 20 years were honoured at the event. Celebrants from all over the world gathered for the service anniversary, which was graced by the presence of GCEO, Mr. Mesfin Tassew, President of EAGPBTU, Mr. Kiya Lemma and members of the Executive Management.
In his brief message to the anniversary celebrants, Ethiopian Group CEO, Mr. Mesfin Tasew, said “Our colleagues who came from all over the world, who have been serving Ethiopian Airlines for several years and who have come here today to join us in celebrating this moment, I would like to congratulate you all for your long year service to Ethiopian airlines. Even at the difficult times like Covid, you have supported the airline and I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all of you. The airline you have been supporting today is in a good status, still growing, still making good profit, still expanding, investing in infrastructure, fleet, and continuing to be one of the most respected airline in the world. We have achieved all these with your dedication, commitment and continued support. Those of you who are separated Ethiopian airlines due to retirement, I would like to wish you all the best of health, peace and happiness during the remaining of your life together with your family. And I call up on you to continue supporting Ethiopian airlines wherever you are. Please continue supporting us! Those of you who came just to celebrate your long years of service, I would like to thank you and encourage you to continue supporting your beloved airlines at all times. I would like to once again thank you for coming here to celebrate this important event with us. Thank you very much!”
A/VP Group HCM, Mrs. Zenebework G/Tsadik on her behalf thanked the celebrants for their unreserved contributions and impeccable support. She also reminded the celebrants to continue their effort to deliver Vision 2035 and wished to have an enjoyable natural course of life for those who are leaving the company for retirement.
EAGPBTU President, Mr. Kiya Lemma, in his part said; “ I would like to congratulate those of you who are gathered here today to celebrate your service anniversary. I am also honoured to be here representing EAGPBTU. Your contribution to the success journey of Ethiopian is highly recognized. The younger generation should learn a lot from your experience, knowledge and skills. I would also like to thank the program organizers for this incredible event to appreciate and recognize long serving employees. At last, I would like to forward a message for all ETG employees to work hard and sustain the success of the airline.
The ceremony officially came to close with, cake cutting ceremony, buffet lunch and music.
